About Unified Communications Server

The Configuration section of the Mitel UC Server Administration page provides a button that links to the Unified Communications administration tabs and associated pages. Click Configure Mitel UC Server to access the UC Server administrator pages.

The Status section of the page provides the current status for the UC Server, and the ability to start, stop, or refresh the server. For Server Status, the name of the server is displayed along with one of the following:

• Active: The server is online and operational.
• Becoming Active: The server is in the process of coming online.
• Idle: The server is offline and not operational.

To start, stop, or refresh the server:

1. Select an action from the list box. Options include:

• Start Mitel UC Server
• Stop Mitel UC Server
• Refresh Status

2. Click Perform Requested Action.

UC Advanced client software stored on this server may be upgraded or downgraded without requiring an upgrade of the Unified Communications server.

To perform an upgrade or downgrade of a supported UC Advanced client:

1. Under Applications, click Unified Communication Server.

2. In the New Client Package field, click the Choose File button and navigate to the UCA client package to be uploaded.

3. Click Upload UC Advanced Client.

4. The list of installed UC Advanced client software will automatically be refreshed with the updated version information.

The Diagnostics section of the page provides access to diagnostics tools. Click Perform Server Diagnostics to access diagnostics tools.

 NOTE: Do not use the UC Server Diagnostic tools unless you are instructed to do so by Mitel technical support personnel.

Use the following procedure to import a standalone UC Advanced database into a MAS server or vMAS release 3.0 or later system.

1. Under Applications, click Unified Communication Server.

2. In the Import Data File field, click the Browse button and navigate to the UCA database file.

3. Ensure that your browser and target file system support downloads of this size, then click Begin Download.

4. When prompted to Open or Save, click Open.

5. Click Import Mitel UC Server Configuration.

This section of the page provides a mechanism to default the system database.

 NOTE: Loss of Data. Reinitializing the system defaults the system database, which deletes all of the values that you have configured for the system. Do not reinitialize the system unless you are instructed to do so by a Mitel Product Support Specialist. After you complete this task, you will need to reconfigure the entire system.

To reinitialize the system:

1. Click Reinitialize Mitel UC Server Configuration. A dialog box prompting you to confirm your actions appears.
2. Do one of the following:

• Click OK to reinitialize the system. This may take several minutes to complete.

• Click Cancel to cancel the action.
